I am Julie Ann Taylor, Certified Grief Educator.
At Colors of Grief, I offer compassionate, one-on-one virtual support for individuals who:
• are coping with the loss of a loved one.
• have been caregivers, past or present, to someone close to them.
• are navigating grief after a cancer-related loss in the family.
Grief lives in the body as much as the mind. Somatic practices can help ease grief and anxiety, supporting nervous system regulation. Learn gentle breathwork and body-focused techniques that build capacity, steadiness, and a sense of safety—allowing grief to be held with greater ease and self-compassion.
Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE) is a non-verbal, body-based practice designed to release accumulated stress and support nervous system regulation. As a Certified TRE Practitioner, I guide you in safely learning how to access and work with the body’s natural therapeutic tremor. A minimum of three sessions is required to learn and integrate the practice.
When grief is most raw, navigating endless resources can feel impossible. I help narrow and recommend resources that feel manageable and supportive. Options include carefully chosen books, podcasts, expert guidance, online programs, and peer support groups that align with your needs and capacity.
“In my darkest moments, Julie became a steady light, reminding me that healing can exist alongside grief.”

JULIE ANN TAYLOR
Certified Grief Educator
I’m Julie Ann Taylor, and grief is something I know well. When I was young, I lost my mom to cancer, then years later lost my mother-in-law to the same disease. Most recently, I lost my husband of thirty-three years after spending a decade as his caregiver, supporting him through novel treatments and clinical trials for bone marrow cancer. I have also faced the profound pain of losing loved ones to suicide.
Wanting to understand my own grief better, I trained under internationally recognized grief teacher David Kessler to become a certified grief educator. It is now my privilege to walk alongside others as they navigate their unique path through loss.
In today’s grief-averse society, many people aren’t sure how to support someone who is grieving. Even with good intentions, support can miss the mark, leaving grievers to manage not only their own pain, but the discomfort of others as well.
My approach is to meet you where you are, offering personalized support that honors the full spectrum of grief, in every hue and every shade, without judgment or hurry.

*A Certified Grief Educator is committed to providing the highest level of grief support through education, experience, and insights into the often unacknowledged rocky terrain of grief.
